The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, recently approved the four-laning of Khagaria-Purnia section of National Highways 31 and 231 in Bihar on a BOT (Toll) basis. The total cost of the project is INR 3,936.05-crore.

As part of this main project, an extension bypass of 6.729 km length will be developed for the city of Purnea.
